The forces we see in the campaign are the expanded War Pigs, using what seems to be the marine armor of the marines of the Cerberus Program that Cauley had used to try to assassinate them. However, this backfired when they discovered Cauley was trying to kill them too, so they instead joined Jim Raynor. Cauley joined the Dominion after the Confederacy fell, but soon he got the hint Mengsk knew that Cauley was behind the attempted assassination, so he sought to get in Mengsk's good graces and destroy any evidence of wrongdoing by rounding up and sending the War Pigs to kill Jim Raynor, promising the War Pigs a clean slate on their record. During the Great War they attempted to assassinate Arcturus Mengsk and failed, leading them to go into hiding. They worked for a senator named Tamsen Cauley, and helped him cover up some of the early zerg experiments prior to the Great War. The War Pigs were a group of Confederate marine convicts, sent in when the Confederacy needed expendable troops but needed more tactical flexibility than resocialized marines could provide. War Pigs: I missed the marine mercs last time so I'll get into their story. Marines distrust firebats, as their fuel containment isn't entirely reliable and is prone to explode when shot at. Their armor became the inspiration of the 5-4 Powered Armor of the marauders. Armed with perdition flamethrowers that seep plasma into the carapaces of zerg creatures, boiling them from the inside, and upgraded with armored Juggernaut Plating and Incinerator Gauntlets, firebats are a staple way to deal with incoming zerg threats. **Firebat:**Armed with the most cutting edge CMC-660 Powered Armor, firebats are almost universally resocialized pyromaniacs, criminals deemed unsuitable for society and turned into frontline soldiers. Anyway, nothing's been confirmed as of yet. There's not much to directly back this up, however we know Selendis was present during the Brood War bonus campaign Enslavers II: Dark Vengeance, which takes place during Brood War sometime during Episode V, leading a lot of people to guess she was the Executor during both of those. Headstrong and devoted to her people, Selendis is a devotee to the ways of the Aiur protoss and desires the reclamation of her homeworld.Īlso a note with Selendis, with Artanis being the player character in SC1's Episode III, a lot of people have assumed Selendis is the player character in Episode IV. As the dust settled, she helped Zeratul and Artanis with a secret mission to rescue survivors from Aiur, and later helped twice when the renegade dark archon Ulrezaj attempted to take his revenge on the Aiur protoss. Selendis: A Templar who trained under Hierarch Artanis, Selendis served her people with pride during the Great War and Brood War, shooting up the ranks to High Executor after Artanis stepped away from the position. Disillusioned with the greater Dominion, Ariel devoted herself to the good of the colony, hoping to safeguard any who come seeking a new place to live. But over the years Agria came under attack by pirates and bandits, with neither the Confederacy or later the new Terran Dominion doing too much to quell these attacks, and in some cases killing colonists when they did help. However, the politicking and scheming of the scientists, as well as the complete devotion of her mother to her studies, leave Tarsonis and go to the Fringe experimental colony her father had founded: Agria. Her parents quickly divorced, leaving Ariel to her studies, quickly getting a scholarship to Tarsonis University, earning a doctorate and working on Tarsonis. Ariel Hanson: Ariel was the daughter of Talise Cogan and Bernard Hanson, two of the top scientists in the Terran Confederacy/Dominion, and showed an aptitude for science at an early age.
